The feature film is currently titled, “Magic Mike’s Last Dance”. An obvious reference to the fact that this is meant to be the final installment in the franchise. As well as a clever play with words to give a shout-out to another Mike. Michael Jordan and his hit “Last Dance” documentary. In reality, little has been confirmed about the upcoming film. However, there have been multiple rumors surrounding a potential third installment in the franchise. We’ll be exploring a couple of those here for sure.

Reid Carolin wrote both of the current installments in the franchise. It’s looking like that’ll be the case this third time around. As far as the director’s chair, that was occupied by Steven Soderbergh the first time around. With his spot being taken by Gregory Jacobs for the second movie. Channing Tatum Has Not Confirmed If Matthew McConaughey Will Come Back To The Franchise
Matthew McConaughey was an integral part of the 2012 original movie. In 2013 though, he won an Oscar for his leading role in the movie Dallas Buyers Club. Coincidently the name of the city was also the name of his character in the Magic Mike franchise. According to the rumor mill when producers for “Magic Mike XL” the second movie in the franchise, called him up to come back and reprise his role they found his asking price had gone through the roof since winning the Oscar. Therefore, he wasn’t brought back to the second movie. It’s unclear at this point whether the studio is going to have enough cash to lure McConaughey back into the franchise to be a supporting character to Channing Tatum’s Mike.
Who Will More Than Likely Be Back In Magic Mike’s Last Dance
Although Matthew McConaughey’s return to the franchise is still up in the air there a couple of stars that will more than likely be reprising their roles for the third time. Potentially the most notable star to return will be Joe Manganiello as Big Dick Richie. He certainly had an increased role in the second film in the franchise potentially due to the fact that both McConaughey and Olivia Munn did not stick around for the second film. Matt Bomer also had an increased role in the second film, and could potentially return to the franchise.
Former wrestler Kevin Nash and comedian Gabriel Iglesias have also been around since the first installment of the franchise. They haven’t won an Oscar as of late, and aren’t committed to too many movie projects. Their return to the franchise alongside Channing Tatum seems likely.
