Matthew McConaughey is sharing his thoughts about young kids receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.

Earlier this month, the CDC gave the green light for children between ages 5-11 to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. However, McConaughey doesn’t particularly subscribe to the idea.

The “Dallas Buyers Club” actor recently sat down with the New York Times to discuss American politics and touched on the subject. McConaughey shared that he doesn’t believe younger kids should be forced to take the vaccine.

The Hollywood star said that there was still a lot of information he needed to find out, so he couldn’t completely stand behind the idea. “There will come a time where you’re going to have to roll the dice one way or the other,” he added.

As for whether he would vaccinate his children, McConaughey firmly answered no. “Right now, I’m not vaccinating mine, I’ll tell you that,” he declared.

Matthew McConaughey Is Not Anti-vaxxer

During the conversation, the actor did well to note that he is not against vaccines. In fact, he and Camila have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

He also mentioned that he doesn’t subscribe to any conspiracy theories about vaccines, so that didn’t influence his decision not to vaccinate his kids.

However, the CDC only cleared children for the jab some days ago, so he was quite cautious about it. According to him, he and Camila always “go slow on vaccinations” even before COVID-19 happened.

McConaughey’s opinion on the divisive issue was sought following speculations that he has plans to run for Texas Governor. However, he neither denied nor confirmed it during the interview.

The ‘Interstellar’ Star Has A Controversial No Deodorant Policy

McConaughey is no stranger to sharing his thoughts on controversial topics.

Back in August, the Academy Award winner made headlines after he revealed that he hadn’t used deodorant in years.

The actor has been practicing the habit since as far back as 2004 and even spoke about it during a promotional tour for a movie with Kate Hudson.

He shared that he never wore deodorant or cologne during the shooting of the film, but Hudson bought him an all-natural rock salt.

Nevertheless, McConaughey shared that he has no issues with body odor, and he often receives compliments about his natural smell from women.

McConaughey’s theory was proudly supported by singer Lizzo who revealed that she also stopped using deodorants and began smelling better.
