In a new cover story with Vogue, the "Sex And The City" actress Sarah Jessica Parker called out the criticism she received over her physical appearance and how they've changed since she's aged.

"There's so much misogynist chatter in response to us that would never. Happen. About. A. Man. Gray hair, gray hair, gray hair. Does she have gray hair?'"

The hypocrisy is something the stars and other female celebrities have tolerated for a long time. With the advent of the media, the scrutiny of famous people has only become worse. Parker also recalled when she had lunch with her friend Andy Cohen and had the media's spotlight focused on her.

"Everyone has something to say. 'She has too many wrinkles, and she doesn't have enough wrinkles.' It almost feels as if people don't want us to be perfectly okay with where we are as if they almost enjoy us being pained by who we are today, whether we choose to age naturally and not look perfect, or whether you do something if that makes you feel better."

"I know what I look like. I have no choice," Parker proceeded. "What am I going to do about it? Stop aging? Disappear?"

Other Times She Has Received Scathing Comments On Her Age

This wasn't the first time the actress addressed the issue of aging in Hollywood. In 2019, the "Just Like That" actress revealed in an interview with Elle that she wasn't interested in going under the knife to slow down her evolving appearance. In the interview, she likened her changing appearance to a wilting flower but had no plans to go for surgery.

"I don't know what I can do about the aging. Yes, I am aging. Oh my God, I'm aging all the time," the actress said at the time. "It's like those flowers that wilt in front of you in time-lapse films. But what can I possibly do? Look like a lunatic?"

She also mentioned that she had done everything she could, including the purchase of expensive skincare." I feel so old and tired- I look around, and everyone else seems so much younger! I buy face cream. I'll try everything. "Who knows if they work, but I can't help thinking the more money you spend, the better it must be!"

Reactions From Other Celebrities

Several celebrities echoed their sentiments in the interview. One of them was the producer and writer of "Sex And The City," Micheal King.

"There were a lot of positive reactions," he said, referring to the announcement of "And Just Like That." "But one bitchy response online was people sharing pictures of the Golden Girls. And I was like, 'Wow, so it's either you're 35, or you're retired and living in Florida. There's a missing chapter here."

Cynthia Nixon, who depicted the role of Miranda Hobbes in the movie, also pointed out that, "I like that we're not trying to youthify the show. We're not including, like, a 21-year-old niece."

The writer of "And Just Like That," Samantha Irby, added, "I think it's revolutionary to do a show about middle-aged women, with their aging lady bodies."

Per Vanity Fair, Parker, a lead role in the famous franchise, explained that she was ecstatic to bring a new franchise chapter to life.

"I think that Cynthia, Kristin, and I are all excited about the time that has passed," she stated. "You know, who are they in this world now? Have they adapted? What part have they played? Where have they fallen short as women, as friends, and how are they finding their way? Did they move with momentum? Are they like some people who are confused, threatened, nervous by what's happening in the world? I'm so curious and excited to see how the writers imagine these women today," she explained.

The series will premiere on HBO Max on December 9, with two episodes. After that, the eight episodes left will drop on Thursdays.
