Rihanna Is Looking Forward to Motherhood In The Next Ten Years

From superstar phenomenon to entrepreneur Rihanna is leaving no stone unturned. Once again, the Barbadian songstress graces the cover of British Vogue magazine. The May issue will mark the twenty-sixth time the Fenty Beauty owner has graced the one of the iconic fashion magazine’s cover.

During her feature, the icon gets personal about her life plans over the next ten years—including new music, her business quests, love—and of course, motherhood.

“I’ll have kids—three or four of ‘em,” she told Afua Hirsch. When asked if she would do it with or without a husband, instantly she said, “Hell, yeah.”

“The only thing that matters is happiness—that’s the only healthy relationship between a parent and a child," she said. "That’s the only thing that can raise a child, truly, is love.”

The singer’s decision to become a mother should come as no surprise seeing as though over the years’ she has proudly posted pictures of her goddaughter, Majesty. Her thoughts on whether she’d do it regardless to if she was married was met with bold feminism, independence and a sheer understanding that love is at the core of parenting.

"I feel like society makes me want to feel like, 'Oh, you got it wrong…' They diminish you as a mother if there's not a dad in your kids' lives,” she said.

The question of whether she’d go at it along came after news broke of the A-lister recently splitting from her billionaire boyfriend, Hassan Jameel after three years together. The Saudi-businessman and singer’s relationship ended on account “their lives were too different,” and it was hard to maintain a relationship.

"You don't have a lot of time to tolerate shit, you know? You put so much on your plate," she said When asked about her previous relationship’s end. "When you're overwhelmed, you need to start cutting things out."

Prior to her newfound singlehood, Rihanna has spoken out on more than one occasion about her desire to become a mother.

In previous interviews with Interview magazine and in a Q&A with Anna Wintour, the Ocean’s 8 actress stated she wanted “kids mor than anything in life” and “motherhood was part of “God’s plan." She jokingly stated that she was looking “forward to all of the pregnancy rumors after this interview.”

Though fans are ecstatic about the singer’s entrepreneurial success, many are awaiting another album. The 32-year-old’s last album, Anti was released in 2016. The singer admitted her involvement with her Fenty and Savage x Fenty businesses have kept her occupied.

Although she is juggling multiple projects, she did admit there is a new album on the horizon that will be rooted in her Caribbean roots.

“I like to look at it as a reggae-inspired or reggae-infused album,” the “Work” hitmaker said. “It’s not gonna be typical of what you know as reggae. But you’re going to feel the elements in all of the tracks … Reggae always feels right to me. It’s in my blood.”

Hopefully, we will be able to see all the singer’s aspirations come to fruition soon.
