Actor Jared Leto has been known for crazy antics on the sets of his films. He channeled his chaotic energy on the set of 2016’s "Suicide Squad” as The Joker, where his co-stars told some crazy stories about the things Leto would do on set, such as sending the cast a dead pig during the first table read.

The "30 Seconds to Mars" lead singer shocked fans when he appeared in the trailer for "House of Gucci," directed by Ridley Scott.

Leto was almost unrecognizable in the posters promoting the film's release, leading many to wonder how Leto could pass for a member of the Gucci family. In a recent interview, Leto recently revealed that he had one condition for Scott when he was approached to appear in the film.

Jared Leto Wanted To Go 'Absolutely F---ing Crazy'

Although Ridley Scott had his eye on Leto to play one particular role, Leto was immediately attracted to the character of Paolo Gucci after he read the script. Although Paolo was widely considered to be the black sheep of the family, that was what immediately drew Leto to the character.

Although Leto wanted to appear in the film, he told Ridley that he would only do it under one condition: “I’d love to do this, but if I do, I’d go absolutely f---ing crazy.”

Apparently, his wish was granted, as Leto has been earning rave reviews from critics so far and many consider his role to put him on the path towards winning an Academy Award for his performance. One critic called Leto’s portrayal of Paolo “next level.”

What Did Al Pacino Think Of Working With Jared Leto On Set?

When Leto worked on the set of “Suicide Squad,” Will Smith revealed that he had never actually met Jared Leto, because he was always in character as the Joker. It sounds like Al Pacino might have had a similar experience with Leto’s unique version of method acting.

“You have no idea how mind-blowing it is when this guy came in, dressed as Paolo, stood next to me — I was new in Italy — and I thought, ‘Who is this?,’ because he kept calling me ‘Papa!'” Pacino explained. “Somebody, a sensitive person in the area, said, ‘Al, it’s Jared.’ I swear to you, I bowed to the floor. I remember, I said, ‘You are an inspiration. I can go on now.'”

Leto, for his part, seems to have had a good experience with Scott on set.

“Sometimes you work with younger directors and they think that their job is to keep directing and never stop,” he explained. “But Ridley does a very wise thing that we can all learn from, which is he hires people that he really believes in. He gives you the greatest gift, and that’s the gift of faith. And when you feel that, your entire world floats with productivity, confidence, and the ability to take risk.”

“House of Gucci” also stars Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Salma Hayek, and Jeremy Irons. The film is scheduled to debut in theaters on November 24, 2021.
