Adele gets real about her split with ex-husband Simon Konecki.
In her new interview with Rolling Stone, the English singer, 33, got candid about her divorce and how her life changed in the past few years.
Feeling Low
Adele admitted that her breakup with Konecki in 2019 and their divorce made her "really sad."
“Then having so many people that I don’t know know that I didn’t make that work," the "Hello" singer said. "It f--king devastated me. I was embarrassed. No one made me feel embarrassed, but you feel like you didn’t do a good job.”
She recalled feeling lost but was confused as to why.
"I didn’t really know myself. I thought I did. I don’t know if it was because of my Saturn return or if it was because I was well and truly sort of heading into my thirties, but I just didn’t like who I was." she said.
Battling Anxiety

Adele also shared that she had bouts of anxiety where she spent many days in bed. Since the divorce, she and Konecki have shared custody of their son Angelo, 9, and it meant not having her child for some time.
“I was like, ‘This is going to be really f--king up-and-down,’” she recalled. However, she decided to turn things around and spent 2019 trying new things.
“Anything that could soothe my anxiety, I threw myself in headfirst,” Adele explained.
Healing From It

Traveling has always been a remedy for many things, and she did just that -- going to places "where there’s meant to be brilliant energy.”
The "Rolling in the Deep" hitmaker flew to many parts of the world, including Greece, Jamaica, and an Arizona desert. Her diet changed for the better, and she also started going to the gym.
“If I can transform my strength and my body like this, surely I can do it to my emotions and to my brain and to my inner well-being,” Adele stated. “That was what drove me. It just coincided with all of the emotional work that I was doing with myself as a visual for it, basically.”
New Friends & Love
Adele currently lives in Los Angeles following her split with Konecki. When she relocated, she formed many friendships among people in the entertainment industry for the first time, including Jennifer Lawrence and Nicole Richie.
“They humanized me because I had avoided talking to anyone that was ever famous in any capacity, because I was like, ‘Well, I’m not famous.’ I’m very British like that,” Adele noted. "We never spoke about work, which was amazing, because most of the time when I catch up with someone, they want to know all about my work, and I’m like, 'I don’t want to talk about that. Can we talk about something else? I’m knackered.'"
After several years, Adele found love again, currently dating sports agent Rich Paul.
“I lasted five seconds [dating here],” she said, adding that she didn't like the idea of a blind date. “You can’t set me up on a f**king blind date! I’m like, ‘How’s that going to work?’ There’ll be paparazzi outside and someone will call [gossip site] DeuxMoi, or whatever it’s f**king called! It ain’t happening.”
