Adele is going to be actively “touring” for the first time in 4 years. As she also debuts some new material. Much to the delight of her fans. Before the Rolling in the Deep singer essentially gets her career back on track she sat down with Oprah to talk about her life and how she’ll go about setting up these new shows. Although, we’ve just gotten to see a sneak peek of the interview there are a couple of things that already stand out. Like the fact that Oprah and Adele are sitting in a garden that looks eerily similar to where Winfrey conducted her interview with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!
Adele Has Already Held A Soft Opening In Her Return To Concerts
The TV special that will be aired on CBS this Sunday is not only going to feature Adele pouring her guts out to Oprah. It’s also going to include footage from a small private concert that Adele held for a couple of VIPs in LA at the Griffith Observatory. The guest list on the night included fellow Brit, James Corden. Other familiar faces like Lizzo, also appear in the slim preview footage that we got to see. According to reports Adele sang only 6 songs on the night. Maybe those are just the 6 that are going to be included in the TV special. We’ll get to answer that question on Sunday night.
The Upcoming Concerts Are Going To Have To Start With “Hello”
Oprah literally asks Adele outright if all of her upcoming concerts are going to lead off with her song “Hello”. The question was kind of cheeky, and it seemed that Oprah was just throwing it out there to get a laugh from the British singer. As it turns out though Adele had given that particular issue some thought. She ultimately admitted that it would be rather awkward to put the song in the middle of the set. She told Oprah,
“I’m always going to have to start with ‘Hello.’ It’d be a bit weird if that song was halfway through a set,”
Adele also revealed that the song has a bit of a hidden meaning. Recalling that when she sat down to write the song back in 2015 she was actively looking to “find herself”. Speaking of finding herself what a lot of people want to know is whether or not Oprah was able to ask the tough questions. You know, about divorce, and Rich Paul, all of those nice things.
Adele Does Open Up To Oprah About Divorce & New Relationships
Although there aren’t many “tense” moments showed in the preview with Oprah grilling Adele with tough questions, CBS did essentially confirm that divorce and current relationships were two of the topics covered in the interview. It does seem though that this time around Oprah was able to tone things down. Don’t expect major revelations from Adele, as was the case with Meghan and Harry. This time around fans also have another reason to tune in this Sunday. That six song mini concert will be featured in the TV special.
