Lachey recently sat down with Andy Cohen on SiriusXM’s “Radio Andy” and revealed that he has never read his ex-wife’s book and has no plans whatsoever to read it.
When Andy asked the “Alter Ego” star if anyone had ever given him the low-down of the book, Lachey thew a subtle jab at the integrity of the events narrated in the book, saying:
Here’s the thing: Obviously, I knew the book was coming out, but I lived the book. I know what the truth is, so I don’t need to read someone’s version of it in a story.
As for how he feels about Simpson’s book being ordered by Amazon Studios into a small-screen fictionalized drama, Lachey doesn’t seem to give a care.
The 98 Degrees lead vocalists shared that he was currently at a great place in life and what happened between him and Simpson was almost 20 years ago, so he doesn’t give it much thought.
The 41-year-old admitted that he understands why people are curious to know his thoughts about the book, but it’s “not even on his radar.” According to him, Simpson was doing her thing while he was focused on his life, and that’s how he prefers things to remain.
About Nick Lachey And Jessica Simpson’s Marriage
Lachey and Simpson ruled the early 2000s with their love story. The duo was married from 2002 to 2006, with things ending messily.
In her memoir, Simpson gave fans a glimpse into the tumultuous relationship with the boy bander, especially during their divorce. She confessed that she and Lachey were intimate for one more time before things were finalized in 2006.
The “Dukes of Hazzard” star also wrote that Lachey begged her to stay with him even though she had filed for divorce already. He even went as far as to beg her parents to convince her otherwise, but her mind was already made up.

Simpson was also candid about how she felt after Lachey found love with his now-wife Vanessa Minnillo, writing that she was “saddened beyond belief.”
The exes have since moved on, with Lachey tying the knot with Minnillo in 2011 and welcoming three children together. Simpson, on the other hand, has three kids with her husband, Eric Johnson.
Jessica Simpson’s Sobriety Journey
Lachey’s interview comes days after Simpson publicly celebrated being four years sober with a forthcoming post. As The Blast previously reported, the fashion mogul shared an unrecognizable image from 2017.
In the caption of the post, Simpson detailed her sobriety journey admitting that she became addicted to alcohol because she didn’t love herself.
However, now that she has regained her power, she has no fear about telling her truth.
