Olivia Munn Talks Body Image And Fashion Struggle During Pregnancy

Olivia Munn is opening up about her pregnancy and getting candid about her struggles.

The actress made a recent appearance on an episode of "Pop Culture Spotlight With Jessica Shaw," where she discussed how her challenges with body image have affected her pregnancy.

Getting candid, "The Newsroom" star revealed that she has been under pressure to maintain "perfection" as a pregnant woman in the spotlight, partly because of how society is unforgiving towards people.

Addressing how her body image has suffered from pregnancy, Munn mentioned that whenever she goes on Instagram and sees expectant mothers and their maternity wears, she feels some type of way.

The Hollywood star recalled even reaching out to a friend and asking for help perfecting her maternity style, but it didn't make her feel any better. She then added:

It’s just so hard because I will Google search streetwear maternity and a lot of it comes up with these gorgeous women who are super skinny, and have this little bump, and everything is effortless. They are wearing the same clothes … and I don’t feel the same way

Munn mentioned that her friend referred her to model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, who is currently pregnant, to help with her fashion struggle.

The 41-year-old added that when she realized she found it hard to embrace the modern maternity style, she felt like she was "failing." It also didn't help that people labeled her "too big" to be on screen, causing her to eat less.

Munn concluded, admitting it is "really hard" to know what is right because of society's various standards of what is perfect.

"The Babymakers" star's pregnancy was confirmed last month when her partner comedian John Mulaney spilled the tea during an appearance on "Late Night with Seth Meyers."

Despite the challenges of pregnancy, Munn is more than excited to welcome her bundle of joy into the world. As The Blast previously reported, the actress shared that she was thrilled about meeting her child.

She, however, didn't go into details about the sex of the child or her due date. Munn and Mulaney became an item in May 2021.

At the time, the "Big Mouth" actor had split from his wife of six years Anna Marie Tendler. Munn and Mulaney have been going strong ever since but recently hit a stumbling block when rumors of a breakup surfaced.

Earlier this week, the couple caused quite the stir on the internet after celebrity gossip blog DeuxMoi claimed that the pair had called it quits and were only keeping up appearances.

The gossip site didn't state the sources, but the news was strong enough to garner reactions from fans. Also, according to another source, the couple didn't have a good foundation and sort of rushed into the relationship.

The insider also alleged that Munn's friends don't see the duo as lovers. However, they believe they would be good parents to their child. Since the speculations surfaced, neither Munn nor Mulaney has publicly commented on it.
