The most popular show on television -- Squid Game -- is being banned from New York elementary schools after officials deemed it "inappropriate" to wear as a Halloween costume.

According to multiple reports, three elementary schools near Syracuse are banning Squid Game costumes, saying any kid or teacher wearing the outfits could send a message of violence to other students. As you know, the show is filled with death, shooting, and outright torture -- regardless of how big it is.

Principals of the schools are justifying their decision, saying the costumes cause what they describe as a "potential violent message aligned with the costume." To make their point, school officials sent an email to parents of children from the three schools describing their issues with the costumes, according to the Washinton Post.

The 'Squid Game'  ban in schools is coming on the heels of the best basketball player in the world -- Lebron James -- publicly announcing he didn't like the ending of the show. In a press conference following a Lakers game, James simply told fellow player Anthony Davis that he didn't understand why the guy didn't get on the plane. (you will understand after you watch) and Davis felt the same way.

But, the director of the show clapped back at Lebron, reportedly firing off a statement after someone asked about Lebron's movie. "Have you seen Space Jam 2?" he asks. Not all the way through, I reply," Hwang Dong-hyuk said. Adding, "LeBron James is cool and can say what he wants. I respect that. I’m very thankful he watched the whole series. But I wouldn’t change my ending. That’s my ending. If he has his own ending that would satisfy him, maybe he could make his own sequel. I’ll check it out and maybe send him a message saying, 'I liked your whole show, except the ending.'"

It should be noted, Squid Game costumes are one of the most popular this year, but mainly amongst adults. Obviously, a show about killing people who lose at kid's games isn't exactly what you want running around the schoolyard. Plus, why would any young kid know what the show is in the first place?!
