Love Conquers All

On Wednesday, October 20, Goodwin posted a selfie taken from his hospital bed alongside a lengthy message expressing his profound gratitude to his fans and well-wishers.

"The Incredible Mr. Goodwin" star stated that he was grateful for the amazing support he received after his life took a different turn a couple of days ago. In his words,

"Thank you to everyone who has reached out and sent their love and support. It literally has been a lifesaver."

The performer admitted that being "protected by love" made it possible to avoid the worst scenarios without fear. He also teased the grim reaper for failing to get him and assured fans of his return, writing,

"There is a long road to recovery and that won't look like what it did…I may leave the daft sh*t alone for a while, but I have a lot left to do in this world."

Escape Gone Wrong

As reported by PEOPLE, Goodwin's accident occurred on October 14 while the "AGT: Extreme" spinoff show was being filmed at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The Welsh stuntman attempted a dangerous performance in which he tried to escape from the middle of two cars. The act was complicated because the vehicles and the 41-year-old were suspended 70 feet in the air.

The TV personality did the stunt with his legs tied up by a wire and arms trapped in a straitjacket.

However, before escaping his restraints and landing safely on the air mattress below, Goodwin was sandwiched by the cars when they crashed into him.

Other Close Calls

As an escapologist, the Welsh stuntman has experienced many close calls with death, and The Blast has previously shared one of Goodwin's terrifying escape acts.

Last year, while contesting on season 15 of "AGT," the 41-year-old pulled a risking stunt whereby he was restrained with handcuffs and paddocks while his head was caged in a metal box.

The daredevil took things further by allowing his assistant to soak him in gasoline and set him on fire. Eventually, the performer could free himself from his restraints and save himself from being burnt to a crisp.
