Jamie Spears Tried To 'Cure' Britney's Mental Illness With Religion

The plot continues to thicken for Britney Spears and what actually went on behind closed doors in her conservatorship.

Not only did The Blast report that Britney had her house swept for spying equipment while on vacation with her fiancé, Sam Asghari, following allegations her father bugged her private bedroom with recording devices, but now it’s coming out that Jamie Spears tried to use religion to "cure" her.

This story just gets crazier by the day.

So, it was just last week that a Los Angeles County judge ruled to have Jamie suspended from the conservatorship until a complete dismissal of the conservatorship can be decided.

This was a massive victory for Britney and her lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, who also asked the court to set a hearing in the next 30-45 days to end the conservatorship.

It has now come to light that Jamie was using different methods to try and “cure” Britney during the 13-year conservatorship.

One major method was religion.

Brit’s father sees himself as a “born-again Christian,” and thought he could heal his daughter’s mental health issues with religion. According to a report, Jamie forbid his daughter from reading any other religious material that did not match up with his ideology.

Sources told TMZ, Jamie sought out God after a stint in rehab not long after taking over Britney’s life when she suffered a mental breakdown in 2008.

In addition to Jamie running the conservatorship, he also used the assistance of “fervent born-again Christian” Lou Taylor, as well as, Robin Greenhill.

The outlet reports that for the first year of the conservatorship, the three of them “literally walked around with the Bible in hand, proselytizing the word of God.”

The songstress was only allowed to read religious material and forbidden to hang around anyone not deemed a “good Christian” by Jamie, Lou and Robin.

Religion was a pillar of the conservatorship until 2009 when Britney began her “Circus” tour and made a TON of money, which then became the central focus for her father and his crew.

Since the announcement of Jamie’s suspension, Britney has been on vacation living life as a free woman for the first time in 13 years. She has openly thanked the #FreeBritney movement for their help in getting the severity of the conservatorship out in the public/media.

There is still the possibility her conservatorship could be abolished altogether, or she remains under the conservatorship with someone else running it.
