Katharine McPhee Is Creating The ‘Perfect’ Bra

In recent years, many celebrities have turned towards the world of fashion in order to enhance their brand. Kate Hudson has Fabletics. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen started The Row. Kim Kardashian started the critically acclaimed SKIMS body collection. Rihanna featured her own size-inclusive lingerie collection with Savage x Fenty.
Recently, “American Idol” runner-up Katherine McPhee Foster has partnered up with MINDD in order to create a new bra line “unlike anything out there.” Best known for her singing talent, McPhee has also starred in several TV shows and movies, including the 2008 comedy “The House Bunny” with Emma Stone and Anna Faris.
MINDD is a lingerie company that provides undergarments for women who range in band size from 28-44 and between a C – G cup size. All bras are wire-free, and the company even says that their bras are safe for women recovering from reconstruction surgery, heart surgery, or those who have scarring after a biopsy.
Although bras for larger-chested individuals can be expensive and uncomfortable, McPhee is looking to create the perfect bra.
Why MINDD?
McPhee first stumbled upon MINDD’s intimate collection when she was in the last three months of her pregnancy. Not only did she love the comfort and feel of the bra, but she also loved the environmentally friendly packaging it came in. After the experience, she reached out to connect with the brand.
Her partnership will include a limited edition collection of bras, underwear, and bodysuits offered in three different colors, which have yet to be revealed.
The founder, Helena Kaylin, had nothing but positive things to say about McPhee. In a press release, Kaylin revealed that she has “always deeply admired Kat’s realness, authenticity, and ability to connect with so many women on such a relatable level. She truly embodies the passion and spirit of our brand, and I couldn’t imagine a more perfect partner to help tell the MINDD story.”
Pregnancy Challenge
In February 2021, McPhee and her husband David Foster welcomed her son Rennie. Although McPhee admitted to struggling to find bras that fit well during the last few months of her pregnancy, she found that nursing bras provided a struggle of their own.
"They were so hideous looking, I can't even tell you,” she said in a recent interview. “They were scary, giant bras. You know like those bras you see on the floor? The boob is just so big on the floor. And you're just like, what woman wears the boob size that big? It's scary.”
She continued, “Like when you get pregnant, you're excited to actually buy a nursing bra. Cause you're like, 'Oh, it's all the things you get to buy and experience.' And then when this bra was introduced to me, [it] felt like it had nothing to do with nursing or pregnancy.”
However, it was her new MINDD bra that helped her feel more comfortable in her own skin and allowed her to start to embrace her new mom-bod. She’s hoping that this new collection will inspire more women to feel comfortable in their own skin and find bras to help them embrace their best selves.
The official Katharine McPhee Foster x MINDD collection will be available in mid-October 2021.
