Selena Gomez ‘felt like a joke’ after transitioning to more adult acting roles following Disney fame.

The actress opened up recently about not being taken seriously due to her being a former Disney star.

According to Gomez, she “felt like it was very difficult for people to take me seriously.”

Gomez says while it was a frustrating process, she has successfully pushed through and has been able to prove herself in the industry.

Gomez was the lead star of the Disney original series “Wizards Of Waverly Place” and also had a recurring role in Disney’s “Hannah Montana.”

The actress also has a good filmography since her exit from Disney.

Gomez starred in the 2012 Hollywood film “Spring Breakers” and also produced the hit show “13 Reasons Why.”

Gomez also starred as the lead voice actress alongside Andy Samberg on the Sony animated franchise “Hotel Transylvania.”

Selena Gomez presently stars as Mabel Mora on the hit comedy series “Only Murders In The Room” alongside comedy legends Steve Martin and Martin Short.
