Rooney Mara says she almost quit acting.

According to the actress, starring in the 2010 remake of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” caused her to dislike acting for a while.

The movie also had low ratings with 14% on Rotten Tomatoes and 35% on Metacritic.

While she continued acting, the experience taught her to be careful with accepting movie roles in the future.

The star’s love for acting returned after she worked with director David Fincher on “The Social Network”

They worked together again on “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,” which she equally enjoyed.

The actress explained that she had to prove that she could ace the role during auditions.

She commended the movie’s director, David Fincher, for his patience, supportiveness, and making sure that her “opinion meant something.”

Mara recently starred in “Women Talking” alongside Claire Foy.
