The sister of Bernie Madoff, charged with running a nearly $65 billion Ponzi scheme has been found dead, along with her husband.

87-year-old Sondra Weiner and her 90-year-old husband Marvin were found dead of gunshot wounds in their Florida home.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office has issued a statement that the cause of death would be released once the ME confirms the same.

Bernie Madoff had died in prison in 2021, aged 82, after suffering from terminal kidney disease.

He was arrested in 2008 and pled guilty to defrauding over 40,000 people in 125 countries in 2009.

Madoff had been turned in by his sons, both of whom are now also deceased.

While Mark Madoff took his own life in 2010, Andrew died of cancer in 2014.

Authorities do not know if the murder-suicide of the elderly couple was related to the same.

For now, no news has been released over who instigated the alleged murder-suicide as ME report is awaited.
