Gabby Petito’s family continues their legal battle against Brian Laundrie’s family, with another recent victory.

Brian Laundrie killed Gabby during a road trip across US National Parks.

Autopsy results showed Gabby died from strangulation; her body was found in a Wyoming park, dead for about 3-4 weeks.

Gabby's parents, Joseph Petito and Nichole Schmidt, have faced off against Brian's parents, Chris and Roberta Laundrie, since Gabby's death.

Their lawyer, Patrick Reilly, sought a potentially incriminating letter from Roberta Laundrie to Brian, instructing him to “burn after reading.”

The letter reportedly offered assistance in disposing of a body, illustrating Roberta’s unconditional support for her son.

Initially denied due to a technicality, a judge later ruled that the letter can be included as evidence in the civil lawsuit.

The Laundries' lawyer argued that the FBI already had the letter, but it was found alongside Brian's body.

Brian, who confessed to killing Gabby in notebook entries, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Steven Bertolino, the Laundries’ lawyer, accused Reilly of sensationalizing old evidence and taking the letter's contents out of context.
