Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey got married on a Bahamas Island, and after three years, they welcomed their fraternal twins Moroccan and Monroe. After they split, the comedian went on to have five more children with three different women.

Cannon is a successful entertainer among other things, and he recently completed his study on Criminology and Administration of Justice at Howard University, in Washington D.C., U.S.A.

Although fans were skeptical about the comedian’s decision to go back to school, especially when he had already attained success, he simply replied these assumptions with a quote by the late Nelson Mandela.

Cannon disclosed during his daytime talk show that his ex-wife, Carey, was furious when he blindsided her with a birthday gift for their kids. According to him, the gifts, which were cellphones, did not sit well with the musician.

In Cannon’s defence, the children had asked for the phones when they were eight years old, but Carey frowned against it. So, when they turned ten, it seemed like the right time for them to have phones, even though they already had iPads.

Some people may think that Carey’s reaction to Cannon getting their kids cell phones was out of proportion, but the singer had many reasons to back up her anger. Cannon explained that she was worried about the kids googling their successful parents, and reading several blog posts about them.

He also noted that Carey was worried about their kids finding out that they have other half siblings somewhere, courtesy of their dad, Nick Cannon.

Cannon respected Carey’s reservations about the phones, but insists that he did not do anything wrong, especially because they kind of had a deal when the kids were eight years old.

The television host said that although Carey was not open to the idea of the twins having cell phones when they were eight years old, they kind of came to a consensus that when they turned ten, they would.
