Kanye West opened a private school named after his late mother.

West said he had never read a book before.

He said he mostly watched “Star Wars” films when he was younger.

Students enrolled in Donda Academy were expected to pay $15,000 yearly.

The school offers core subjects and several enrichment classes.

West said Donda Academy would build up self-confidence in the students.

He said the school would pay particular attention to physics and the engineering of several things.

Rolling Stone said Donda Academy lacked curriculum details compared to other schools and was unaccredited.

Parents were required to sign nondisclosure forms.
