"Donda" rapper and recent school owner, Kanye West recently mentioned his disdain for reading books. The father of four recently opened a private school in California named after his late mother, Donda West. The school is reportedly yet to hire staff and is not accredited at the moment.

During the interview, the 45-year-old talked about a wide range of topics, including the purpose of his new school and how it had more to offer compared to other regular institutions. The school's website listed a number of core subjects and other enrichment classes.

Despite opening a school, West revealed that he was never a scholarly person as a child and usually spent his time watching movies. The 45-year-old also claimed that he was yet to read a book and compared the act to eating Brussels.

West joined the "Alo Mind Full" podcast and revealed a number of things, including his aversion to reading. During the interview with the podcast hosts Danny Harris and Alyson Wilson, the 45-year-old likened reading to "eating Brussels." He claimed he was yet to read a book and mostly preferred to speak instead.

"I actually haven't read any book. Reading is like eating Brussels sprouts for me. And talking is like getting the Giorgio Baldi corn ravioli." West also revealed that when he was at school, he was much more interested in watching "Star Wars" films than in his studies.

West's new school, Donda Academy, is reportedly located in Simi Valley, California. The school's website revealed that the establishment was created with the intention of "'preparing students to become the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators by providing them with a world-class education that includes a rigorous core curriculum and an emphasis on sustainability, creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving."

Each student in the establishment was reportedly expected to pay $15,000 annually, but the establishment's website revealed that "everyone is welcome to apply regardless of financial situation."

Further on in the podcast, West revealed, per Daily Mail, that the school's curriculum was designed in such a way to allow for a number of things that the standard curriculum didn't offer. He said, "I have to be able to throw my version onto the curriculum. The standard curriculums that are there, they show you how to be in today's society and all of that, but we have to balance them."

West revealed that, unlike many schools, Donda Academy would build self-confidence in the students. The 45-year-old continued, "'We have to educate the critical mass on esteem, on religions - all the religions. We have to educate the critical mass on yoga, financial literacy, we have to expose information."

The father of four also revealed his intention to focus more on physics and how several things like "pipes and water" function. The school would pay special attention to the engineering of things like "food, shelter, clothing, automotive, computer, hardware and software, financial literacy." Rocket science was also listed, which according to West, was a "shoutout" to Elon Musk.

West's recent interview was done not long after Rolling Stone conducted a probe of the new school, which revealed a number of abnormalities compared to others. According to the news outlet, the curriculum of Donda Academy was lacking in detail when placed side to side with similar learning institutions.

Rolling Stone also claimed that the school was yet to be accredited and instructors would possibly be hired before the school year kicked off. The outlet could not identify Donda Academy's new intakes or staff and revealed that the people contacted refused an interview.

Two sources notably reported that prior to enrolling, the students' families were made to sign nondisclosure agreements.
