Housekeeper Slapping Case Submitted To District Attorney’s Office
It's a very high-profile case.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Department wrapped up its investigation into the slapping incident, which was sparked over the treatment of Britney’s dogs.
The Sheriff's Dept. routinely forwards its finding to the D.A., but normally it doesn't bother when they do not believe a crime was committed or the case has no merit.
Obviously, they want prosecutors to decide whether or not to charge Britney with battery. It is a very high-profile case, after all.
Britney's team isn't worried about the case and previously thought it would go away. However, she is not out of the woods quite yet.
It should be noted that battery cases are tough to prosecute when the act isn't done in the presence of an officer or there aren't any injuries to the victim.
