The housekeeper incident is no longer looming over her head!

The Ventura County District Attorney's Office declined to file charges against her.

“Britney is relieved to put this behind her,”  a source told PageSix.

"The folks at the DA’s office should not have had to waste their time and resources investigating it,” PageSix's source added.

Britney was accused of slapping a phone out of her former housekeeper's hand on August 16. The staffer took her dogs to the vet and did not bring them home.

The DA's office released a statement on Sept. 1 that said the "housekeeper had no visible injuries," and only the screen protector on her phone had been "damaged."

District Attorney Erik Nasarenko concluded that there was "insufficient evidence that a crime had occurred."

Now that the battery issue is over, she can get back to focusing on her conservatorship battle with her father, Jamie Spears.

Jamie offered to step down but is asking for $2 million. Brit's lawyer, Matt Rosengart, called Jamie's latest act extortion in newly filed legal documents.
