At least 169 people are killed in the Philippines after Super Typhoon Rai.

This is the 15th typhoon to strike the Philippines in 2021.

However, this one was also the most powerful.

It generated wind gusts of over 185 miles per hour.

More than 330,000 people have been evacuated from their homes.

Richard Gordon of the Philippines Red Cross described the scene as “complete carnage.”

There are some areas that look like it has been bombed worse than World War II,” he said.

Many areas have been left with “no power, no communications, very little water.”

The death toll is expected to rise as clean-up efforts get underway.
