To no one's surprise, the publisher of the Pence family's children's book is not happy with John Oliver for stealing their thunder (and their book sales).

Vice President Mike Pence's wife and daughter released a children's book today called, "Marlon Bundo's A Day in the Life of the Vice President." Marlon Bundo being the family's pet rabbit.

But before the book — which "gives young readers a bunny's-eye view of the special duties of the vice president" — could even go on sale, Oliver released his own book on Sunday night, using to spotlight the VP's anti-LGBTQ views.

Oliver's book is called "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver Presents a Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo" and is about a gay bunny falling in love. The book is described this way: "With its message of tolerance and advocacy, this charming children's book explores issues of same-sex marriage and democracy. Sweet, funny, and beautifully illustrated, this book is dedicated to every bunny who has ever felt different."

A rep for Regnery Publishing, which issued the Pences' book, tells The Blast, "It's unfortunate that anyone would feel the need to ridicule an educational children's book and turn it into something controversial and partisan."

The rep continued, "Our and Mrs. and Charlotte Pence's goal is — and will continue to be — to educate young readers about the important role of the Vice President, as well as to highlight the charities to which portions of the book proceeds will be donated, Tracy's Kids, A21, and Riley Children's Health."

By comparison, all proceeds from Oliver's book will be donated to The Trevor Project and AIDS United.

As of this publishing, Oliver's book happens to the #1 best selling book on all of Amazon, even beating out James Comey's upcoming book.

The Pence book is Amazon's #1 bestseller under the category "Children's United States Biographies."
