The presence of Michael Jackson's spirit was detected by a psychic investigator during a Halloween party at the house he grew up at, and while his children were nearby.

Paris and Prince Jackson hosted a Halloween party at the Jackson family home in Encino, also known as the Hayvenhurst house. The party served as a fundraiser for the Dee Dee Jackson foundation, who was Tito Jackson's late wife and the mother of TJ, Taj and Taryll.

Joe and Katharine raised all the Jacksons, including Michael, at the home ... Katharine has since relocated to Calabasas, but Paris moved in to the old pad last year.

The event was also attended by psychic detective Troy Griffin who was walking around giving readings to guests when he picked up on the spirit of Michael Jackson while standing in the backyard. Griffin said the area feels, "Like it was a playhouse for him. It feels like this could be his escape when he was a kid."

As Griffin was channeling MJ's spirit ... Paris rushed by him, the timing is pretty shocking.

The rest of the party was awesome ... there was a cemetery and haunted house for guests to walk through, and we're told 20-year-old Prince got in on the action as one of the monsters inside.

The inside of the Jackson home was covered in ghoulish decor, including skeletons sitting on all the furniture.

Of course, there were tons of MJ posters and signage.

Paris dressed up as Spyro the Dragon, and we're told she was running around as the "life of the party."

Michael's youngest son, Blanket, was also there hanging out but did not dress up.

As for food and entertainment ... there was a never-ending supply of street tacos, ice cream, and of course candy.

Maybe the coolest part of the night, the bash ONLY featured music by Michael Jackson, and of course included multiple remixes of "Thriller"
