Mel B Denies She Has an Alcohol Problem, Offers to Submit to Drug Testing

Mel B is denying that she has issues with drugs and alcohol and says she is willing to put her money where her mouth is.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the Spice Girls singer is responding directly to the allegations levied against her by her children's former caretaker, Russell Updegraff, who claimed her alcohol abuse made her a danger to her kids.

In her declaration — filed Friday before Mel B and Stephen Belafonte reached a confidential settlement — Mel B specifically says she is not a sex addict, does not take illicit drugs, and is not a "raging alcoholic."

Mel B says she is "willing to submit to random alcohol and drug testing for a finite period of time." She says she is also willing to submit to a child custody evaluation with psychological testing.

In return, Mel B says she wants the court to order Stephen to random drug and alcohol testing because "he, once again, appears to be deflecting!"

She says she believes Updegraff and Belafonte are working together "to exaggerate and make up stories" about her.

The two sides are due back in court next week.

Mel B gave a statement earlier this week where she talked about her issues with alcohol and said she was going to seek help for issues related to PTSD.
