A tour guide and photographer at the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya made an extremely rare discovery recently. Antony Tira came across a zebra foal, but unlike every other zebra he's witnessed, this one had spots instead of stripes.

Tira said, “At first I thought it was a zebra that had been captured and painted or marked for purposes of migration. I was confused when I first saw it."

The week-old zebra suffers from melanin disorder, which effects the pigmentation of its fur.

The discovery caused tourists to flock to the zebra hoping to catch footage of the rare animal. It was the first recorded zebra with this condition in the Maasai Mara reserve, although others have been seen in different parts of the country.
