Wendy Williams' Son and Estranged Husband Fight: Full Details of Their Parking Lot Altercation

By Daniel Goldblatt

The altercation in May between Wendy Williams' son and her estranged husband escalated when Kevin Hunter Jr. called his father "a bitch."

The West Orange PD released the police report on Friday to Page Six, which details the fight between father and son.

The report is heavily redacted and the responding officer wrote that when he arrived at the scene, he separated the two men.

"I then was told by [redacted] who stated that [redacted] hit [redacted] and caused [redacted] to start bleeding," the report reads.

It continues, "[Redacted] stated that Hunter Jr. and [redacted] were involved in a verbal altercation and when [redacted] confronted [redacted] about being called ‘a bitch,’ when [redacted] struck [redacted] with a closed fist to the face. [Redacted] denied striking Hunter Jr. and reported that [redacted] only wrestled with [redacted] after being struck in the face."

The officer then spoke to Kevin Jr., who told police "that he called [redacted] a ‘bitch,’ which caused [redacted] to approach him in an aggressive manner and started pointing [redacted] finger very close to his face. Hunter Jr. then admitted to pushing [redacted], which caused them to start wrestling with one another."

Kevin Hunter Jr. told the officer that his mother was not on the scene. He was eventually arrested for domestic violcence simple assault.

The report seems to indicated that Kevin Hunter Sr. did not cooperate with the investigation, refused to provide a written statement, and refused to allow photos of his injuries to be taken.

According to Daily Mail, Wendy Williams is the one who called 911 to report the altercation.

Daily Mail reports the transcript of the call went as follows:

Hi, I'm calling to file a complaint and call the police to a strip mall that's on Mount Pleasant at (garbled) at Krauszer's.

I don't know the address ma'am. I am in New York City. I was waiting for [redacted] to come home.

[Redacted] fought him and put him in a headlock in the Krausers where you buy like cigarettes and things like that, do you know that tiny strip mall across from the Exxon?

In a second call, Wendy told dispatchers:

Okay. [redacted] is 18 years old and he was taking an Uber and as he started to go away when he called me and I told him to turn around and file a police report."

My, [redacted] and I are going through a [redacted] and [redacted] told me something about [redacted] putting him in a headlock and screaming about money and telling him, basically accosting him and attacking him in the store and I want him to file a police report.

There are witnesses there because there are workers in the store.

Earlier this year, Wendy Williams filed for divorce from Kevin Hunter following 21 years of marriage after his mistress allegedly gave birth. Wendy said there was “no reasonable prospect of reconciliation between the parties.”

She noted they share a 19-year-old son Kevin Jr. and said child support may be an issue in the case. Wendy is seeking for their marital property to be equitably divided and establish a child support amount.

Kevin responded seeking spousal support and attorney fees from Wendy but admitting the marriage was over. The case is still pending.
