Someone new will enter the “Walking Dead” universe as the show’s next season nears.
Ahead of “The Walking Dead”‘s Season 10 premier in October, it’s been revealed that Dante, from the comic-book series, will soon be seen onscreen.

Showrunner Angela Kang explained Dante’s “roguish” character:
“He is this roguish, fast-talking, sometimes charming, sometimes annoying guy who can sometimes put his foot in his mouth, but is an interesting presence in the comics.”
Kang added that Dante will play prominently in the new season.
“He will play an important role in the story in Alexandria. So we’re excited about that.”

In the comics, Dante is a key member of the Hilltop community, and is Maggie’s right-hand man. He also becomes her love interest following the death of Glenn.
Although he won’t serve those roles in the show, Kang says Dante’s role will be just as important, and adds that others may join the flock:
“There will be some other characters we meet down the line, but I don’t think I can quite talk about them yet. We’ll meet some really cool characters this year.”
