'The Voice' Star Beverly McClellan Dies After Battle with Cancer

Beverly McClellan, one of the most beloved contestants to appear on "The Voice," died after a long battle with cancer.

McLellan, who was the third runner-up on the very first season of the hit NBC show, died Tuesday afternoon, according to her close friend and music partner, Robyn Fear.

We're told McClellan had been in a hospital in California receiving treatment, as her cancer had taken a turn for the worse in recent months. She passed around 4:30 PM surrounded by close friends and her loving wife, Monique.

McClellan became a fan favorite in the first season of "The Voice" after belting out "Piece of My Heart" and joining up on Christina Aguilera's team.

According to her GoFundMe page, the 49-year-old was diagnosed earlier this year with stage 3 endometrial cancer that had metastasized to many other parts of her body.

We're told she was a fighter up until the end, and will be greatly missed by all that knew the singer.
