'Vanderpump Rules' Star Scheana Shay Claps Back At 'Blackfishing' Accusations

"Vanderpump Rules" star Scheana Shay's anti-racism post backfired terribly when several fans accused her of "blackfishing." The SUR waitress raised eyebrows when she posted a selfie where her face looks extra tan. The 35-year-old Bravo personality dropped the shot on her social media to announce a giveaway where donations would be sent to non-profits dedicated to combating fighting racism in young children. While her heart seemed in the right place, Scheana Shay wasn't expecting the backlash her post generated and now, she's clapping back.
Looking at the camera and striking a fierce pose, the "Vanderpump Rules" star sported her long hair up in a ponytail and back in braids. Covering her curves in a hooded black sweatshirt, while most of Scheana Shay's body was covered, her fans couldn't pry their eyes away from her tanned face and hands.
"$12,000 Gifting! ?I’m teaming up with @jbsocialcollective to give TWO of you $4,000 cash each!" she captioned the overly tanned shot. She then went on to explain the company was donating "$4,000 to @theconsciouskid, a non-profit supporting organizations, families, and educators in taking action to disrupt racism in young children."

When one fan replied, "omg. blackfishing, seriously?" it caused a huge firestorm in the comments. "Right? Def tone much?" someone responded. "The thought immediately came to mind," added another. Some defended Scheana Shay. "No ma'am she's Latina and looking very Latina here. She is not black fishing at all as she has dark olive skin," hit back a follower.
But when another person claimed she was sporting "cornrows" and instructed the reality star to "go back under the rock you came from," all bets were off. Scheana Shay immediately began firing back at haters.

The "Vanderpump Rules" star began clapping back at several trolls over the blackfishing allegations. "My skin isn't even darkened here. I'm half Mexican and tan. It's also the lighting. Ask my friend who took the pic," Scheana Shay shot back at one fan.
The "Pump Rules" star also slammed trolls who went after her braids. "But in NO WAY is my hair like supposed to be offensive. That's an insane stretch," she responded to another hater. While Scheana Shay's clapping back, as of this post, she has yet to remove the photo.
