If you are unaware, the liquid portion of the blood of survivors can be taken and given to sick patients to speed up the recovery process. The plasma is administered through an IV to the sick person.

This is the second time Tom and Rita Wilson have shared their experience giving plasma from inside of the hospital. A few weeks back, the actor shared a photo of the yellow substance filled bag, saying, "Here’s last week's bag of plasma," adding, "Such a bag! After the paperwork, it’s as easy as taking a nap."

Today, Tom Hanks shared even more of the process behind extracting the plasma -- including photos of his blood being harvested from his arm.

"Plasmatic on 3! 1,2,3 PLASMATIC! Hanx," he captioned the photos.

The A-lister recently explained how he is happy his family can be helpful in possibly finding a cure for this disease. "We just found out that we do carry the antibodies," he said on NPR.

He continued, "We have not only been approached; we have said, do you want our blood? Can we give plasma? And, in fact, we will be giving it now to the places that hope to work on what I would like to call the Hank-ccine."

As we reported, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were spending time in Austrailia where the actor was shooting an Elvis Presley biopic.

In the movie, Tom is playing Elvis' manager, Colonel Tom Parker -- but the move's production was shut down after the Coronavirus hit.

Tom and Rita were hospitalized in Australia and spent even more time isolated in the country before heading back home.

BTW -- Rita Wilson has also gotten in on the donation process and also has shared photos from inside the hospital.
