"Our show, Jersey Shore, is about family and making fun of each other and having a good time and laughing and just knowing that it's all in good fun. Lately, everything is so serious," she continued. Snooki stated that the cast has been pulled apart with one, in particular, being victimized. "It's not about a team anymore. Fans are against one another when it comes to a cast member. I don’t want that. I’m not leaving my kids for days on end to film this show when that’s the result of it. I don’t like the turnout of it. I don’t like the person I’m portrayed as. It’s getting to be a little too much," she said.

The MTV star says the drama has gotten too serious, particularly with the cheating allegations between Jenni "JWoww" Farley, her boyfriend, Zack Carpinello, and "Jersey Shore" co-star Angelina Pivarnick. As The Blast reported, Zack was captured by cameras getting handsy with Angelina as JWoww was passed out during a group trip to Vegas. Once word got out to JWoww, fans watched her aggressively confront her co-star which left Snooki running out of the house in tears. On the podcast, Snooki revealed she's not down for more drama like that, stating she's "just not comfortable filming that show anymore with the direction it's going."

When it comes to her kids she'll do anything to protect her tribe, which includes 7-year-old son Lorenzo, 5-year-old daughter Giovanna and 6-month-old son Angelo. Stating her children have been the subject of death threats over "this freakin' reality show that's not even that serious." Snooki added, "And people take it too seriously to where I'm getting death threats with my kids." Snooki also revealed that it's gotten too hard for her to leave her children at home. "If I'm doing a reality show, I want it to be fun and I want it to be light-hearted and lately it’s not that," she said. "The show is getting so dramatic. I can’t be part of something like that, especially when I’m leaving my kids and I’m hurting. I just need to do what’s best for me right now." The "Jersey Shore" star continued that party lifestyle just isn't for her anymore. "Literally, leaving my kids to film it is really hard on me. I try and quit every single day. I just hate being away from the kids," she said. "I don’t like partying three days in a row. It’s just not my life anymore. I want to be home with the kid. It’s just really hard for me to leave the kids and film the show."

Snooki's announcement comes on the heels of the franchise's 10-year anniversary. Tons of her co-stars took to social media to celebrate the anniversary of their first show airing in 2009, and looking back at Snooki's tribute she may have been giving fans a clue about her retirement then. "HAPPY 10 YEARS TO MY DYSFUNCTIONAL FAMILY! We old, fam! It’s been a wild ride," she wrote on her social media and added a peace sign.
