Shakira is gearing up for her big performance at the Super Bowl halftime show this year, and it appears she’s ready to rock the house.
Cheatsheet reports that Shakira has been working out with her regular trainer, Anna Kaiser.
The other day Kaiser posted a cheeky message on her Instagram.
“Pssst… Miami here I come! ?????

In 2014, Shakira spoke with Women’s Health about her workout routine and healthy eating habits.
“I try to eat healthy. And I try to exercise. Not only going to the gym, because sometimes I do get tired of the treadmill. So I recently decided to just do sports, because they’re so much fun and they accomplish the same purpose. I play basketball, I play tennis, every day it’s something different. That seemed to put me back in shape.”
Kaiser also says Shakira has “breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a protein in every meal and fresh veggies or small amounts of low glycemic fruit.”
And yes, Shakira loves food, including things she calls “guilty pleasures.”
“I love food and enjoy eating. I always have fruit every day of my life. I have to have a piece of fruit or two or three or four. Guilty pleasures? I have a few! Chocolate and candies, sweets.”
To avoid those guilty pleasures, Shakira has a foolproof plan: Soup.
Besides her protein-rich breakfast, lunch and dinner menus with the “low glycemic fruit,” Shakira eats soup for an afternoon pick-me-up.
According to Kaiser:
“At the four o’clock hour, when people are craving caffeine and a cookie, soup is a really great option because it fills you up and feels like a meal so it can keep you going until dinner, but it’s not hugely caloric.”
Kaiser also revealed a little bit about Shakira’s workout for the halftime show, which is about a 10-minute-long performance filled with intensity.
Kaiser says Shakira will practice “choreographed dance sections and strength intervals. We’ll do dance, upper body circuit, dance, lower body circuit, dance, core circuit, cool down.”
Their goal is to burn about 500 calories in each workout.
“We usually surpass that goal, but that’s our baseline. We need to get there,” she says.
Shakira’s got plenty on her plate already, as the premiere of her world tour shows up on HBO at the end of the January.
