UPDATE 7:00 AM PT -- Turns out Matt was actually arrested 2 days before Gina filed for a domestic violence restraining order.
“Real Housewives of Orange County” star Gina Kirschenheiter rushed to court seeking a protective order against her estranged husband, and for a hearing to discuss allegations of domestic violence.
According to court records obtained by The Blast, Gina filed for a protective order Monday in Orange County Superior Court.
The protective order names Matt as the respondent, and was made in her ongoing divorce case.
The court records indicate a domestic violence restraining order was requested by Gina, and an emergency hearing was also held on Monday.
As of now, the exact nature of the domestic violence allegations are unclear.
The restraining order request comes days after Gina sent a loving message to her estranged husband on his birthday, adding to speculation the two might be reconciling.
"Happy birthday to the man who has held my hand for the last 14 years despite the ups and downs," Kirschenheiter wrote. "Thanks for being the best father to our kids, and the best friend a girl could ask for."
She added the kicker: "Wouldn’t want to take on this crazy life with anyone else. Like you said, 'I’m your person and you’re mine.'"
Her "Real Housewives of Orange County" co-stars also added to the speculation with their responses to her post.
Vicki Gunvalson commented, "So sweet and I’m so happy for you. Lizzie Rovsek wrote, "You two are gorgeous together!!!" While Gretchen Rossi added, "Love that you two can get along so well still."
As The Blast reported, Gina Kirschenheiter filed for divorce back in April 2018 and late last year, made moves to get their split finalized ASAP, but that's been at a standstill for some time.
Despite the reconciliation rumors, Gina just sold their family home in Orange Country for $100,000 below asking price.
The former couples shares three minor children.
