21-year-old rapper Juice WRLD passed away after suffering a medical emergency at a Chicago airport.

According to reports, the rapper was traveling from California to Illinois on Sunday. He was walking through the airport when he allegedly starting experiencing seizures.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office in Illinois confirmed the death. The spokesperson for the Examiner’s Office identified the rapper by his real name, Jared Higgins.

The cause of death has not been determined. The autopsy has yet to be completed. The rapper was born in Chicago in December 1998.

Juice WRLD started getting attention while releasing music on SoundCloud. He quickly was signed by a major label. The rapper released his first album “Goodbye & Good Riddance” in 2018. The album was certified platinum.

His second album “Death Race for Love” debuted at No.1 on the Billboard charts in March. His recent hit “Lucid Dreams” hit No. 2 on the Billboard charts.

The rapper spoke about mental health and suffering in his lyrics. He was open about struggling with drugs including Xanax and Percocet in high school.

He spoke to The New York Times about drugs, “I smoke weed, and every now and then I slip up and do something that’s poor judgment. I have a lot going for me, I recognize it’s a lot of big things, a lot of big looks. I want to be there, and you don’t have to overdose to not be there.”

He spoke about the dark subjects in his music, “I talk about stuff like that because those are subjects that people are a) too scared to touch on, or b) don’t do it the right way where people can learn from your mistakes. I cherish every mini-second of this life.”

Following the death of Lil Peep and XXXTentacion, Juice WRLD released an EP titled “Too Soon.” The EP featured a song “Legends” which he spoke about his friends’ deaths.

He said, “They tell me I’ma be a legend/I don’t want that title now/‘Cause all the legends seem to die out.”

Following the news of Juice WRLD’s death, XXXTentacion’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, posted a tribute to the rapper. She shared a photo of Juice WRLD captioned, “I’m crushed ?.”

Mally Mall commented, “I just spoke to him he was telling me about songs him & sosa did to my tracks & how fire they were???????????? #LLJ?? is awaiting you young king."

Juice WRLD celebrated his 21st birthday last week. He posted a photo of himself on a boat with friends. He was in a good mood saying, “Yesterday was my actual bday im celebrating all week doe??‍♂‍999 sh-t.”

One friend commented today, “My brother sang songs about legends. about artist that don’t make it past 21. Turned 21 a week ago. a legend just fell in the making ? this hurts deep. i love you bro..”

Another remembered, “Damn man I’m sooo sorry here this about U man ???? this shit is fucked up and I wanna say u will be truly miss young king ? damnn bro ???? thug said u was the best freestyler ever.”
