Rapper Pop Smoke flashed a ton of cash outside of his Beverly Hills home just hours before he was shot and killed in a home invasion robbery.
The up and coming rapper posted a photograph of himself and a friend sitting in his car in front of the Beverly Hills home, where it appears they are holding 10’s of thousands of dollars.
Obviously, this isn’t the first time Pop Smoke has shown off his wealth and earning from his rap career but police are now investigating if he was a specific target of the robbery.
According to multiple reports, the rapper was at his home in the Hollywood Hills around 4:30 AM when two men wearing hoodies and masks broke into his house.
Cops say the two men fired multiple shots critically injuries Pop Smoke. The two men fled on foot, and it’s unclear if they took any of the cash that was inside of the home.
At this point, no suspects have been identified and law enforcement is trying to figure out if Pop Smoke knew these individuals and they somehow made their way to the party, or if he was a target for the stacks of cash.
If so, it would be obvious on this day, Pop Smoke would have had at least the amount of cash in the photo hours earlier in the house.
The rapper was known by many of his fans for flashing cash on his social media, and many of his photos included him carrying large amounts of money.
Smoke was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after paramedics attempted CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Interestingly, the rapper rented the home from ‘RHOBH’ star Teddi Mellencamp and her husband and the reality star addressed the situation earlier today, saying, “Early this am we were informed by a 3rd party leasing and management company overseeing a rental home we own in Los Angeles that a shooting had taken place at the property. Foremost, we would like to extend our prayers and condolences to the family and loved ones affected by this tragic loss of life.”
It seems she doesn’t have many details besides what has been reported and will not share any of it until law enforcement concludes it’s investigation.
“We aren’t aware of any of the details beyond what we’ve been told or seen reported on the news and at this time we would like to refrain from commenting further as we wish for the focus to remain on the law enforcement officers who are diligently doing their jobs,” she said.
Pop Smoke was a rising star in the rap community releasing hit record, “Welcome To The Party,” and “Meet the Woo,” which was remixed by Nicki Minaj. He was set to perform at the Rolling Loud Festival and has a track with Travis Scott.
