A Controversial Retweet

President Trump once again stirred up major controversy when he retweeted a video of Trump supporters in Florida screaming "White power!" at Black Lives Matter protestors. He retweeted the video with the comment "Thank you to the great people of The Villages," but eventually deleted the tweet. The White House claimed that the President hadn't heard "the one statement" when he shared the video.

Despite deleting the tweet, the damage was done and the controversy was aflame. Singer P!nk chimed in on the President's action, tweeting:

"Trump retweet’s a white man screaming WHITE POWER and you’re gonna vote for that? And you’re OFFENDED that you OFFEND ME????? 🖕🏽 #RacistInChief"

Getting Political

This is hardly the first time that the "Raise Your Glass" singer was vocal in her criticism of Trump and his supporters. On June 3, P!nk shared a video explaining her political beliefs after she caught some flack over supporting the BLM movement. In the video, she asked:

"How can anyone call themselves a patriot or an American if you re-elect a president that doesn't govern, respect or represent half of our country? That's not America. That's your America. That's not America."

She continued, criticizing people who "worship the Confederate flag, which is not our flag and it never will be."

""Or you're a hypocrite that doesn't actually understand the meaning of patriotism or what it means to be an American. Truth."

She Thinks Trump Is 'A Joke'

P!nk explained to USA Today in 2019 that she was raised to embrace patriotism, and that's not what Trump is all about.

"I think he's a joke. I think it's also a joke how divided we've all become, and he's been a catalyst for division. Look, I was raised by a Vietnam vet, Air Force person who had me marching on Washington since I was three years old. I believe in patriotism being that you defend your ideals. We have one of the worst leaders that this country has ever had, so you have to speak out about it."

A lot of people think that celebrities should just shut up and entertain, but that's not what P!nk is all about.

"People say, 'You should just shut up and sing.' But it's like, what do you do? Are you in politics? Why does your opinion matter more than mine? I'm a citizen of the United States, and I will continue to speak out until I'm in my next lifetime as a puppy. Yes, I would like to come back as my dog."

A Longtime Trump Critic

P!nk's criticism of POTUS is nothing new, tweeting back in 2017:

"@POTUS you are doing a terrible job. Worse than every other job you've done terrible at. Do you seriously have time to worry about the NFL?"

P!nk has been recently using her Instagram to highlight the BLM movement and also preaching the importance of taking the threat of COVID seriously, so it's clear that she isn't slowing down the activism any time soon. Not only is she talking the talk, but she's walking the walk.
