Owen Wilson is known for the lovable and warm characters he usually plays in movies, yet his former girlfriend claims his movie screen persona couldn't be farther from who the star really is, and alleges he has never once seen the 1-year-old daughter they share.
Varunie Vongsvirates gave an interview to Daily Mail, and ripped Wilson for being nonexistent in their daughter's life.
She said Wilson is "not involved at all" with the child and has "never" met Lyla.
While Varunie did admit the "Wedding Crashers" star helps out financially, she claims it's "never been about that," and that "Lyla needs a father. It’s ironic how [Owen] keeps getting these father roles, he's playing a father in his new movie, and he's never met his own daughter."
Wilson has played a fatherly figure in a few movies, including the recent flicks "Wonder" and "Father Figures."
The star's ex-girlfriend told Daily Mail she had a message for Wilson: "You should see your daughter, she's incredible, you're really missing out. She looks just like you."
Owen and Varunie dated for around 5 years, and according to US Weekly, did not make contact doing her pregnancy nor after the birth. He agreed to take a paternity test in June 2018 and was reportedly not ruled out from being the baby daddy.
At that time, he also reportedly checked off court documents that made it clear he was not interested in any sort of custody or visitation. Lyla Aranya Wilson was born in October 2018.

Lyla is Owen Wilson's only daughter, but she's not his only child, as the actor has sons from two previous relationships. In 2011, Wilson and his then-girlfriend Jade Duell welcomed a boy, Robert Ford Wilson, in Hawaii. The two had been dating for about a year before receiving the news that they were expecting.
Two years later, Wilson was expecting another baby with fitness trainer Caroline Lindqvist. She was going through a divorce at the time and had known the "Little Fockers" star for years.
Although he has remained active in his son's lives, he does not typically take them to premieres or involved them in the Hollywood aspects of his life.
Although Wilson has chosen not to be involved in his daughter's life, he has previously spoken about fatherhood and the excitement it brought to his life. After the birth of his first child, he spoke to Jay Leno while promoting his movie, "Hall Pass."
"He’s not, I wouldn’t say, a wonderful conversationalist at this point, but he kind of doesn’t have to be, he’s so cute. He becomes sort of a little scene-stealer when he comes in the room. [He’s like] Steve McQueen in The Magnificent Seven, where he didn’t have a lot of dialogue ... you just kind of gave him the camera and he was able to hold the screen. I feel like Ford is heading in that direction."
He also spoke about his new sleep schedule.
"What they say about newborns and not getting a lot of sleep, that's true. You look at every place as a potential nap place. I'm looking at this couch, maybe at commercial break [I'll take a] little shut-eye there."
