Rapper Offset has been handcuffed and detained in Los Angeles after police say there was a report of a firearm.
According to multiple reports, Cardi B’s husband was near The Grove shopping center in Los Angeles when he was cuffed and searched by LAPD officers.
It’s unclear at this point what prompted the search, but video of the incident shows the ‘Migos’ rapper clearly upset with the fact he was target for the search.
Several videos of the incident have surfaced on social media.
In the video, Offset is yelling at an officer, who is pushing him up against a wall in the parking area. According to Shade Room, who broke the story, Offset and “at least one other man” were detained tonight by police.
Witnesses at the scene say the officers stopped Offset for “reports of a weapon.” In several other versions of the video, you can see a Bentley truck is being searched in the background of the arrest.
According to law enforcement, a call came in an hour ago of a person with a gun near the parking area inside the Grove. It’s unclear if any weapon was found on the scene.
Offset’s is facing other legal issues in his home state of Georgia. In April, the rapper was charged by the Clayton County D.A.’s Office for felony firearms possession by a convicted felon, and a misdemeanor charge for marijuana possession.
At the time, according to reports, Offset’s legal team believed he was being targeted because “he’s rich, successful and black,” and the stop was bogus. It seems in this case, Offset is upset he is being targeted for a search in Los Angeles.
Offset is currently being held at the scene for questioning, it’s unknown if he will be formally booked on any charges.
