Ryan Newman has had a very rough week after the NASCAR driver was in a horrible fiery crash to end the Daytona 500, it turns out he and his wife split just 4 days before the accident. Fans of the driver think the tragedy may bring the family back together.
If you didn’t see the race, Newman was leading the pack coming down the stretch of the final lap ending the Daytona 500 when he was bumped from behind sending his car flipping into the air and landing in a ball of fire.
Luckily, Ryan is alive and his injuries are not life-threatening. Plus, Nascar says he is awake and talking with his family and his doctors.
Interestingly, just 4 days prior to the crash, Ryan announced on Twitter he and his wife of 16-years were calling it quits. “After 16 years of marriage, Krissie and I have decided to amicably separate,” he tweeted.
He continued, “We will continue to jointly raise our girls while remaining friends and continuing to work together supporting Rescue Ranch. Thank you for the years of support and friendship. We ask that our daughter’ privacy be respected during this time.”
According to his team, Roush Fenway Racing, “Ryan Newman remains under the care of doctors at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. He is awake and speaking with family and doctors. Ryan and his family have expressed their appreciation for the concern and heartfelt messages from across the country. They are grateful for the unwavering support of the NASCAR community and beyond.”
President Trump, who made an appearance at the race, even tweeted, “Praying for Ryan Newman, a great driver and a brave @NASCAR driver! #PrayingForRyan”
Fans of NASCAR and of Ryan Newman have taken to Twitter to send messages to him and his wife, to possibly look at the situation as something that may bring the family back together.
“Sometimes tragedy will bring people back together!! Thanking God again this morning that @RyanJNewman is okay!!” one person tweeted.
Another added, “Ryan really needs you at this time. Hopefully, w/God’s help & a miracle…Ryan will completely recover & also heal your marriage. Don’t give up. Praying 4the Lord 2b w/your family always. Healing prayers lifting.”

One tweet even said, “Nows not the time girl, get in there and love that man you married. He will need your support after the crash.”
Most messages on social media are for Ryan to have a speedy recovery and to know the fan base is pulling for him and his wife.
“Of all the marriages in NASCAR, I thought it would be you to that was a match made in heaven. I will be praying for you both. Hopefully, it will Gods will that y’all might work though whatever it is/was that brought y’all to this place. I’m so sorry, this is sad news. Praying,” one tweet read.
