Breakup Rumors Swirl Around Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson

Although it was just reported yesterday that Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson were on the skids, reports are circulating now that things are just fine between the two singers.

Earlier this week, perezhilton.com said the artists had “taken a step back from their wild, whirlwind relationship." They've only been dating for about a month.

Newshub reported just hours ago that: "They are taking a break but want to remain friends. She said she just needs to focus on herself."

perezhilton cited a source that while the two are currently in separate states, things between them are good:

“Miley and Cody saw each other last week when he visited her in Tennessee. They are fine and are still dating.”

The source continued to say that the two are happy right now, and there shouldn't be any argument about that.

“They are very happy together. She has a new house in LA and when she’s in town, she has been spending most nights there. She was out of town and they definitely missed each other. They reunited and you could see how happy they were to be back together again. It’s clear they are very into each other.”

Cyrus has been recuperating from a trip to the hospital for tonsillitis, and even underwent vocal cord surgery. But Simpson has been there with her.

Their courtship was only made public last month, after Simpson was seen visiting Cyrus in the hospital.

"Miley has been resting from her vocal surgery but has been in touch and seen Cody recently," says the source.

The "New Zealand Herald" has a longer story on the relationship between the two.

According to Matt Zeidman, Simpson's manager:

"It is early, but their friendship is long-standing and deeper than people realise. Though they originally met during their own wilder phases, they're both sober now and are focused on health, work and spending time together. Seems pretty ideal to me."

We're hearing good things from Simpson himself, as the "New Zealand Herald" writes:

"I'm very happy. We are very, very happy," says Simpson.

"She's creative. She's very passionate about what she does, and I'm very similar in that sense. That's why we get along so well. The reason why it hasn't been a really crazy sudden thing is just because we've been friends for so long."

Simpson went on to say that this time, things are different:

"Any girlfriends I've had in the past has always been immediate romance and so it's a different experience having been friends with somebody before and it developing naturally into something more. We just have a ball and that's the most important part of a relationship."
