Matt Barnes is attempting to lower his child support payments to his ex-wife Gloria Govan, despite pulling in $161,000 per month to not play basketball.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Barnes pays $20,000 per month in support for his nine-year-old twin boys. Barnes also claims he pays all of the costs for the boys' private school tuition.

Barnes claims that since he now has increased custody of the twins he believes his support payments should be lowered. He currently has full custody of the kids as part of his ongoing dispute with Govan.

He also says his ex does not work — she was last on "Basketball Wives" in 2011 — and the court should determine what she could be making and then factor that in as well.

In the documents, Barnes says he is being paid $161,000 per month (until 2020) from his last NBA contract, despite the fact he hasn't played in the league since 2017.

As The Blast previously reported, Matt Barnes wants to take custody away from Govan, claiming she is a danger to their children after her arrest. She recently came out ahead in the negotiations after a judge shot down Barnes’ request.

Their trial is scheduled to continue on into next week.
