Nicole Scherzinger Prays for Justice While Mourning Death of Cousin

"The Masked Singer" judge Nicole Scherzinger is mourning the loss of her cousin after he was killed in a hit-and-run accident.

Scherzinger took to Instagram on Wednesday to explain the heartbreaking situation.

"It’s like a nightmare, that we will never be able to wake from...It is with the heaviest of hearts that I say goodbye to my beautiful cousin, John Boy. This past Saturday October the 26th at 3am, his life was taken by a hit and run in Fort Lauderdale, FL."

"Though I must take comfort in knowing that he is at peace with our Lord, I also know the agony our family is going through, knowing someone hit him head on and just left him there to die."

"My sweet cousin, I love you so much. This world was a better place with you and your kind, creative heart in it. We will never forget you and will carry you with us forever."

The former star of "The Pussycat Dolls" also pleaded with any information about the death of her cousin to reach out to law enfrocement.

"My family and I are pleading for any information which could help support the investigation into the tragic death of this incredible man. I ask that whoever did this, has the dignity and strength to come forward. Our God is a loving and forgiving God, but I pray for justice for John Boy and closure for my family."

Suspect Information


Scherzinger also included a handout from police that included a description of the vehicle involved in the accident.

The handout claims the vehicle was a 2009 - 2014 Silver Hyundai Sonata with right front end damage.

Celebrity friends immediately began to reach out and offer condolences over Scherzinger's loss.

Jamie Foxx wrote, "God bless," and Tyrese dropped a prayer hand emoji into the feed.

Fans also messaged with support for "The Masked Singer."

"My condolences, Nicole. May God help you and your family cope with this difficult time. I send all my love, support and prayer! Be with God! love you," one person wrote.

Pussycat Dolls Reunion?


On a more positive front, fans are hoping that Scherzinger will hatch a reunion with "The Pussycat Dolls."

During a recent appearence on E! Schzeringer admitted she wouldn't rule out a reunion, but talked about how busy her schedule is these days.

"I love my girls, I miss touring with them, we had the best times together. But I can't confirm anything right now. Because I'm so busy, I'm doing three different shows on three different continents."

Along with "The Masked Singer," she appears on "Australia's Got Talent" and "The Voice U.K."
