Funk Legend Claims Mark Ronson Uptown Funked Him Out of Serious Money

By TheBlast Staff

Mark Ronson allegedly stole the beat for "Uptown Funk" featuring Bruno Mars, because he's being accused of ripping off a deceased musician who's been sampled by artists like the Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur.

Roger Troutman was murdered in 1999, but the company that owns his song, "More Bounce to the Ounce," claims Troutman created the musical composition in 1980 ... 34 years before "Funk" debuted. They even included the composition side by side to show the similarity.

Troutman's company claims his jam was hailed as a "party anthem" at the time, and even say Ronson himself admitted he grew up listening to Troutman's music.

They include a quote Ronson once said which they feel proves their case, "if you...copy without making it a carbon is original."

Here are the songs, do you think Troutman got funked over?
