Khloe Kardashian is catching some major heat after she shared a post on Instagram promoting a prescription migraine medication, and some are calling the advertisement 'irresponsible.'
The 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star shared her personal story about the struggle with debilitating migraine headaches. But, the IG post started with "#sponsorship" which usually denotes she is being paid for the endorsement.
"#Sponsorship One of the most stressful things about #migraine (besides the debilitating pain of course) is the uncertainty. I never know how long it will last or when I’ll feel normal again," she posted alongside a photo of herself working out by a pool.
Not everyone was happy with the endorsement...see below.
"When my neurologist prescribed @NurtecODT (rimegepant) it was such a relief because it can start working in 15 minutes, and within an hour I can be exercising or doing anything I would’ve done before. I am so grateful to be able to take back my days from migraines. Other people are too, and we’re using #TakeBackToday to share our stories," she continued.
But, almost immediately Kardashian's followers started questioning her decision to promote medications.
"Why are you advertising medication? Seems irresponsible to me," one person wrote. "Y’all touting potentially harmful drugs now eh... damn anything for a dollar $$$," another added.
It should be noted, Khloe DID include the safety information for this specific drug.

"For the acute treatment of migraine in adults. Not a preventive treatment. Do not take Nurtec ODT if allergic to Nurtec ODT (rimegepant) or its ingredients. The most common side effect was nausea. Prescription-only," she wrote.
To be fair, Khloe has been very public about her struggles with migraine headaches in the past. The reality star opened up about her experiences to Shape magazine, describing just how hard it has been to deal with it.
"To be honest, it was excruciating and terrible,” she said. Including that her "countless" headaches impacted her vision in her left eye and extreme sensitivity to light, which leads to vomiting.
“I remember being almost embarrassed or ashamed to continue saying [I was] in this much pain because I kept kind of being convinced that I wasn’t,” Kardashian said.
According to reports, she partnered with Biohaven Pharmaceuticals for a deal. “[People would say things] like, ‘Oh, you’re being dramatic,’ ‘you’re not in that much pain,’ or ‘you’re still going to school,’ Khloe explained.
She added, "'This isn’t an excuse to get out of school. I literally can’t function.'”
It's unclear how much Khloe is being paid for the advertisement, if anything, but one thing is clear -- not everyone wants medical advice from the Kardashians.
