As fans mourn the death of Chicago rapper Juice WRLD, 21, a tweet he posted in July is reminding people that addiction can kill.

One of Juice WRLD's tweets to his girlfriend Ally Liotti from July 8 revealed his addiction at the time to the drug codeine.

He wrote:

"Bae I'm sorry I be tweaking, you've put up with more than ppl know I know I be scaring you, f--k Codeine I'm done. I love you and im letting it be known publicly that ain't s--t f--king up the real love I found. Learn from this everyone. Addiction kills all but you can overcome."

Juice WRLD died on Sunday after suffering a seizure at Chicago's Midway Airport after flying in from Los Angeles. The rapper was later pronounced dead at an Oak Lawn hospital.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said it was conducting an autopsy.

Juice's song "Legends" eerily predicted his death, when he references the age 27, which seems to be the age that many rock stars die tragically.

"What's the 27 club? We ain't making it past 21," he says in the song.

Interscope Records released a statement soon after Juice WRLD's death.

"Juice made a profound impact on the world in such a short period of time.

He was a gentle soul, whose creativity knew no bounds, an exceptional human being and artist who loved and cared for his fans above everything else."
