Teen Mom 2 alum Jenelle Evans announced on October 31st that she and her husband of two years, David Eason, were divorcing. Evans posted a statement to her Instagram explaining the split.
“I’ve mostly kept off social media the past dew days because I’ve been focused on making some big life decisions.
I’ve lived my life on camera since I was 17 years old. And a lot of it hasn’t been pretty. But its been my life.
Like anyone else I want what’s best for my kids and I want to be happy. With time away from Teen Mom I’ve started to look at my life differently and I know I need to make changes.
I’m starting that now.”
She continued, explaining that leaving Eason was what was best for her children and herself.
“The kids and I have moved away from David.
Nobody gets into a marriage expecting it to end but I know that’s what is best for me, and for my kids.
Today I’ve filed papers to start that process.
I appreciate the support from everybody who has asked how I am. Me and the kids and doing great. We need some time to be tougher. But you’ll hear from us again soon.”
Eason hasn’t been handling the split well, shading Evans on Instagram through passive aggressive comments. He posted a picture of the animals that Evans left behind, saying “At least these guys know how to keep me company! Love my herd!”
He also posted a picture of a rooster saying “These chickens are so damn crazy!” This move prompted a number of commenters to weigh in, and Eason’s responses were… not great.
One commenter wrote “chickens take after their owners. Funny how that works,” and Eason replied “Said no person ever.”
Another asked “What are you going to do with all of the animals now its just you to care for them?” Eason’s response? “Eat them.”
Another fan wrote “So are u,” referencing Eason’s “damn crazy” caption, prompting “Good one, Very original joke.”
Eason lashed out against Evans on social media, posting passive aggressive messages and accusing Evans of being a bad mother. It got so unrelenting that Evans obtained a restraining order that prohibited him from talking about her online. However, he found a loophole around that rule, posting pictures to his Instagram story of his wedding ring.
It seems that Evans has taken her children, including Ensley who she shares with Eason, to Tennessee and is seeking temporary custody of Ensley. Between the accusations of abuse and them both temporarily losing custody of their children following questions of safety in the past, this is sure to be a drawn out custody battle.
