‘DWTS’ alum James Van Der Beek’s wife has been hospitalized after suffering a second miscarriage in just seven, this according to the actor who posted the heartbreaking news on Instagram.
In an emotional post, the ‘Dawson’s Creek’ actor revealed that last weekend his wife, Kimberly, was rushed by ambulance to the hospital after suffering a miscarriage.
The actor described the harrowing ordeal, including his wife getting blood transfusions to help save her life. The actor shared several photos of his wife resting comfortably at home, cuddling up to the couple’s other children.

“After suffering a brutal, very public miscarriage last November, we were overjoyed to learn we were pregnant. This time, we kept the news to ourselves. But last weekend, once again, 17 weeks in… the soul we’d been excited to welcome into the world had lessons for our family that did not include joining us in a living physical body,” Van Der Beek wrote.
He continued, “We rushed @vanderkimberly to the hospital by ambulance for another harrowing night of blood transfusions. And as I stood by, grateful for the good people who navigated the maze of regulations to save her life.”
There’s more…
The ‘DWTS’ alum explained he was “helpless” to do much for his wife, except to “massage her feet and try to keep her warm (with my #DWTS robe, ironically).”
But, he added, “Something kept running through my head, again and again, which I now feel compelled to share: We’ve got to take better care of each other.”
Adding, “The world is in pain right now. There’s denial, shock, numbness, anger – all the old patterns we cling to when deep trauma is unearthed. And there are no words to ease that pain… to make the process hurt less or to solve it quickly.”
The actor then spoke to anyone who has gone through this situation, saying, “you are not alone.”
As we reported, James revealed in November that the couple had miscarried a baby boy while the ‘Varsity Blues’ star was competing on ‘Dancing With the Stars.’
At the time, Van Der Beek said the situation was so devastating his wife almost lost her life in the emergency room as well.
The couple revealed they had actually been through this terrible situation before, but ‘never this late in the pregnancy’ and ‘never accompanied by such a scary, horrific threat’ to his Kimberly’s life.
