Former 'RHOC' Star Gretchen Rossi Scores $523k Victory in Defamation Case

Former "Real Housewives of Orange County" star Gretchen Rossi is on her way to being half a million dollars richer after a judge ruled in her favor in a defamation suit that has been going on for years.
Rossi sued Jay Photoglou – who claimed to be her ex-boyfriend — back in 2010. She claimed he lied about her cheating on her dying fiancé with him. Rossi also claimed he threatened her and stole her personal property, which included nude photos he then released them online.
The jury in the case awarded Rossi a total of $523,250 in damages, but Photoglou then filed for bankruptcy in 2012 and attempted to have the judgment discharged as part of his case.
Rossi and Photoglou have been battling it out in bankruptcy court for years with the reality star demanding the judgment NOT be discharged. She pointed out the debt was caused due to "willful and malicious injury" to another person and thus the debt should not be allowed to be wiped clean.
Ultimately the judge sided with Rossi and ordered the debt is non-dischargeable.
